This e-course will introduce you to the opportunities and challenges involved in the implementation of economic, social and cultural rights (ESCR). You will get inspiration related to how to protect and promote ESCR in different context and throughout various actions.

The following questions will be addressed: 

  • What are the opportunities and challenges that lie in the implementation of economic, social and cultural rights? 
  • How can National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) work in this field?  

Course overview

The course includes six core modules:

  1. Introduction to ESCR
  2. Combating discrimination and working with stakeholders 
  3. NHRIs work in promoting and protecting ESCR
  4. Measuring ESCR
  5. Evaluating resources for ESCR
  6. ESCR and the SDGs

Each of these modules takes around 1 hour to complete and contain a variety of readings, presentations, videos, reflection exercises and quizzes.
